Critical path

Milestones the project deadline rests on

These 6 items can't be sped up by 2 weeks and can't be deferred without shifting everything downstream. If any of them stalls, we escalate.

  1. 01Brief sign-off — Engineering can't start without it. Common bottleneck: client-side internal alignment.
  2. 02OEM batch order — production runs 2—4 months. Early placement shortens total time.
  3. 03FAT — final checkpoint before shipment. Defects are replaced by the manufacturer within 2 weeks.
  4. 04Customs clearance — critical to verify documents 3—4 weeks before cargo arrival.
  5. 05MES integration — most common deployment-phase delay. Early collaboration with the client's IT team mitigates this.
  6. 06Controlled go-live — a 2-week gradual ramp-up to full load.

Schedule rules

  • The schedule is reviewed bi-weekly at the client status meeting.
  • Scope changes — via formal change request, fixed in a contract annex.
  • Risk buffer — 10—15% of total duration baked into Engineering and Deployment phases.
  • Final go-live date is locked at least 4 weeks ahead so the client can plan training and transition.
